Shaking It Up! Part 2

Press Release:

TORONTOApril 7, 2015 /CNW/ - High Rock Capital Management Inc. is pleased to announce a significant and strategic change to both our ownership structure and to our business model.
High Rock Capital was formed in 2010 by Paul Tepsich, CFA and is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission under the category, Portfolio Manager. The focus of High Rock Capital has been on the active management of fixed income mandates with a clear emphasis on high yield debt. High Rock currently manages approximately $200 million across four closed-end funds on behalf of a division of Scotiabank, Scotia Managed Companies Administration Inc.
With a base of solid performance in our existing mandates and with client demand for our new business line, High Rock Capital announces the start of our Private Client division. The Private Client division will operate parallel to the existing Institutional business but will be for individuals, households, and small institutions. High Rock's Private Client division will be unique amongst the Investment Advisor community and other Asset Management firms, especially in the areas of fee transparency, expertise in fixed income and the groundbreaking use of an Independent Review Committee (chaired by Wychrest Compliance Services), for the benefit of our private clients, which goes above and beyond our regulatory requirement for managing separately managed accounts.
To help move us along this path, High Rock has brought in Scott Tomenson, CIM, as a Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager (pending OSC approval) and co-Owner. Scott has over 30 years of investment management experience beginning as an Institutional Fixed Income Trader/Risk Manager, where he managed several billion dollars of risk with Banks and Investment Firms in both Toronto and New York. More recently over the past 15 years, as an Investment Advisor/Portfolio Manager at some of Canada's leading wealth advisory firms.
High Rock founder and Managing Partner, Paul Tepsich, CFA commented, "As I searched for a partner to build our new business line in the Private Client space, the number one quality I needed in that new partner was: Trust.  As we move this new business line forward, I know of no one as trustworthy, sincere and knowledgeable as Scott to be partnering with. I have known Scott since our days working together in the early 90's and we have remained friends and business associates ever since.  With Scott on board, High Rock will be able to offer best-in-class service in both our Institutional and Private Client businesses. I am confident that our clients will be well-served by having Scott involved in their wealth management program."
Scott Tomenson added, "I have known and worked with Paul for 25 years and it didn't take us long to figure out that we had the perfect fit. Paul has built a really strong business managing Institutional portfolios which have been top performers and we both have the same client-centric vision for working with our Private Client families: offering them the ability to avail themselves of our combined strengths. While we both come from a fixed income background, our more recent collective experience will help produce unique synergies that will allow us to offer our clients great service. I am very excited about showing our clients what we can offer them on a conflict of interest-free, discretionary basis."
